Following its triumphant cross-Canada tour in 2023, the visually stunning and melodiously enchanting performance returns to captivate audiences.
Prepare to be spellbound by the extraordinary true story of aerial artist Angola Murdoch, who overcame severe scoliosis as a child to pursue her dreams. "Twist of Fate" combines contemporary circus, theatre, dance, music, projection mapping, and memoir to create an unforgettable theatrical experience.
With the guidance of script director Ken Hall, Angola Murdoch and award-winning composer, writer, and performer Matthew Reid have crafted a show that promises entertainment for the entire family. Don't miss this chance to witness the power of the human spirit unfold on stage.
Accessibility Notes:
The May 10th performance will have a deaf ASL interpreter.
The May 11th performance will have an Audio description and a tactile experience through a specially crafted mini-touch set.
We are excited to enhance our commitment to inclusivity with the introduction of new tactile accessibility features for our upcoming performance, Twist of Fate. For our guests who are blind or low-vision, we will provide Audio Description by Rebecca Singh, meticulously detailing the actions, characters, scene transitions, and other visual components. We also offer sighted guides to assist from your drop-off point or nearest transit stop, to get into and back out of the theatre.
In addition to the audio description, we will offer a tactile experience through a specially crafted mini touch set. This hands-on opportunity allows individuals to intimately connect with key props and crucial aspects of the performance, ensuring a deeper engagement for all. This experience is done while the show is happening.
We invite guests to partake in a sensory touch tour of the set. This tour takes place 1 hour before the performance, providing a unique opportunity to explore the stage and set, and feel the magic of the theatre.
We acknowledge the support of the Canada Council for the Arts, Ontario Arts Council, Toronto Arts Council, Femmes Du Feu Creations, and Dancemakers.
