Sydney based 5 piece, Twinkling Stars, began life late in 2018 as the creative vehicle of singer/songwriter, Jacob JB Serra, and has been performing regularly since that time. Drawing primary influence from jangle pop, alternative country, and grunge, the group’s introspective sound also incorporates elements of spoken word, free jazz and minimalist drone. Twinkling Stars’ second, self titled album was released in October, 2025.
SaMe THeRaPy are an original Sydgong 3 piece DIY band, formed in 2009 as a 'proto band', known then as Buried Spheres. The 'middle period' band, BoRiS DRiVeR hatched from BS in 2011. In 2019 BD changed their name to SaMe THeRaPy, which, as the name suggests, is really more of the same. Their music is guitar based, influenced variously by bands such as The Velvet Underground, Built To Spill, Scientists The Church., Died Pretty, Yo La Tengo and the so called bands of the 'Dunedin Sound' from NZ in the 80s. Despite the name, which lulls one into a sense of 'predictability', SaMe THeRaPty are not a 'Paint By Numbers' type of band. Their guitar based sound ranges from electric to acoustic to the liminal spaces between: singer / songwriter territory, that may suddenly lurch towards the abstract and fragmentary. They may variously ramp up the sound for a more direct rock approach, or dial down for a more electric/acoustic vibe, sometimes within the same song. They are working on 'serving the audience' after many years of concentrating purely on the own self therapeutic ends...ST are:

Brett Hyde: drums, percussion, voice, production consulting, rehearsal bookings.
