Raised on 90's country
Twang is all about real country music, and that unmistakable 90s country sound. Based in Tamworth, the home of Australian country, this duo are bringing back the music that made them fall in love with music in the first place.
The band is made up of Rusty Crook on lead guitar and Kyle Cartner on vocals. Rusty’s a seasoned musician after years living in Nashville playing Honky Tonks downtown and around the U.S.A; he’s back home, having played alongside just about every big name in Aussie country, including The Sunny Cowgirls, Adam Brand, Adam Harvey, Catherine Britt, and more.
Kyle, originally from Cobar, moved to Tamworth in 2015 to dive deeper into the genre that shaped his upbringing. He’s spent years honing his craft in pubs across Australia, sharing stages with respected acts like Beccy Cole, Travis Collins, and The Wolfe Brothers. His passion for authentic country runs deep, and it shows.
Formed in July 2025, Twang kicked things off with a great show at the Tamworth Hats Off Festival going on to headlined a sold-out New Year’s Eve show at the Full Throttle Ranch, and played to amazing crowds with a strong response at the Tamworth Country Music Festival. With their appearance at Night in Nashville going down a smash and upcoming festival spot at Tunes on the Turf music festival, the duo is building serious momentum ahead of the release of their debut single Jukebox Man, due for release in June.
