TWANG: Real Country.Twang is all about real country music and that unmistakable 90s honky tonk feel.
Based in Tamworth, the heart of Australian country, this duo is bringing back the kind of music that fills dance floors and keeps boots moving.
Made up of Rusty Crook on lead guitar and Kyle Cartner on vocals, Twang blends experience with authenticity. Rusty is a seasoned player with years spent playing Honky Tonks on Broadway in Nashville, now back on home soil after sharing the stage with some of Australia’s biggest names, including The Sunny Cowgirls, Adam Brand, Adam Harvey and Catherine Britt.
Kyle, originally from Cobar, moved to Tamworth in 2015 to chase the sound he grew up on. Since then, he’s built his reputation playing pubs across the country, performing alongside respected artists like Beccy Cole and Travis Collins. His passion for traditional country music comes through every time he steps up to the mic.
Formed in July 2025, Twang is already making noise. Fresh off a strong showing at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, they’re building momentum with a debut EP on the way—packed with original tracks inspired by the golden era of 90s country.
No gimmicks. No shortcuts. Just real instruments, real songs, and real country music.
