New this fall, Lucas SWCD is hosting a series of classes aimed at providing information to help you improve your soil in the garden or on your farm! All classes are free to attend and will be held at our office in Toledo, Ohio.
On September 9th, the guest speaker is Matthew Burkholder. Matthew is a Farmer Advocate for Conservation through The Nature Conservancy and a local northwest Ohio farmer. He will share his personal soil health journey over the last 15 years, and how he has transformed what was once plain, lifeless "dirt" to now healthy and life-supporting soil. If you are someone looking to build up the soil health in your garden or on your farm, consider coming to this first class in the soil health series this fall. Matthew will also leave time to answer any questions that you have.
