A cross-sector learning event exploring support, safety and independence for young people moving into adulthood.
About this Event

Join us in person for a cross-sector learning event exploring findings from YMCA DownsLink Group's independent review of support for young people aged 16–19 as they move from children's to adult services across Sussex and Surrey. Lunch and networking.

Taking place during the week of World Homeless Day and World Mental Health Day (10 October), the event will bring together leaders, practitioners, academics and partners to explore what happens when young people reach adulthood, but their need for support does not change.

The review is being undertaken by YMCA DownsLink Group in partnership with the University of Sussex and Resonant Collaboration. It draws on local and national evidence, alongside key insights from our own services and the experiences of young people.

The event programme will combine evidence, practice and discussion, creating opportunities to explore the findings and their implications, engage with diverse perspectives, and connect with colleagues from across sectors.

See confirmed speakers below, with additional speakers and contributors to be announced soon.

Confirmed speakers and contributors include:
  • Lucy Cavell (event moderator), Resonant Collaboration Associate and trauma-informed consultant
