Interested in ancient Egypt? Come to Turbulent Times, Hostile Neighbours: Egypt in the Late Period , the SSEA's 49th Annual Symposium/Colloquium Weekend in Toronto. This year's Symposium on November 8th, 2025, will explore various aspects of Egyptian civilization during the Late Period (ca. 700 BC to 332 BC), when Egypt had to navigate amongst new and often hostile empires, shifting alliances and internal strife. Our speakers will present their latest research on this turbulent period: Mariam F. Ayad, Lawrence Berman, Kenneth Griffin, Rhyne King, Jean Li, and Jeremy Pope.
The Scholars' Colloquium takes place on the adjacent days,November 7th and 9th, with internateional scholars presenting the results of their latest research and excavations.
Only one ticket purchase is needed for all 3 days.
