Turbulent Threads: Women Rising in Times of Change
A magical evening for Turbulent Threads by Karen McMillan. A talk with the author, bespoke guided castle tour, book signing, bubbles, and nibbles.
Join us for a special evening with bestselling historical author Karen McMillan and host Paddy Richardson as we explore Karen’s novel Turbluent Threads. Together, we’ll delve into pivotal moments in history become the perfect backdrop for stories of female resilience and transformation.
Set in 1890s Dunedin during one of New Zealand's most turbulent decades, Turbulent Threads follows Greer Gillies from orphaned servant at Larnach Castle to a woman who dares to claim her place in a rapidly changing world.

Tickets are $95pp, and includes:
- Welcome bubbles and canapes in the Garden Marquee, with time to explore our beautiful surrounding gardens if you wish.
- Meet and greet with Karen and an engaging author talk hosted by Paddy Richardson, with tea, coffee and nibbles served.
- An exclusive bespoke Guided Tour of the Castle, uniquely curated to connect with Turbulent Threads.
- Book signing and refreshments on the Castle’s Lower Verandah. Books will also be available for purchase.
