About this event

This course covers Tribal Utility Management (TUM) facility operations and is designed specifically for Tribal utilities personnel that are entering into the water utility management field—such as advancing system operators, new water utility program managers, board members, Tribal administrators and Tribal council members. Course topics include regulatory compliance, policy development, financial management, workforce management, worker succession plans, general operations and maintenance, infrastructure master planning, interaction with other entities, public relations, consumer education, and more. Tribal Utility Managers Leadership Forum Sessions will be offered throughout and in association with the course for additional peer-to-peer discussions.

Blended Format: This comprehensive, certification preparation course will use a Blended format, which means it consists of two sequential parts:

(Part 1 is live on-line) and (Part 2 is in-person).

The in-person Part 2 picks up where the virtual Part 1 ends. Part 2 will not review Part 1. Part 2 includes free certification exam sessions.

Part 1 Meets: Monday through Friday (on-line)

Part 2 Meets: Tuesday through Friday (in-person)

Dates: September 8 – 11, 2026

Time: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Local Time)
