About this Event
In Life Work: An Interspecies Collaboration with the Domestic Silkworm Moth, Lee explores the full life cycle of Bombyx mori through a multidisciplinary lens. The program features original music for oboe d’amore alongside field recordings, video, photography, and textile art — all inspired by, and in creative dialogue with, the domestic silkworm moth.
This immersive experience will include:
- A short talk by the artist on the biology and symbolism of the silkworm
- Live performance with visuals and recordings
- Interactive displays of silk, cocoons, and related art
- Time for Q&A and exploration
Blending science, music, and visual art, Lee's work invites audiences to consider the subtle intelligence and beauty of non-human collaborators. Whether you're a musician, artist, scientist, or just curious, this is not your average lunch hour concert.
