In 1926 Tucson’s first radio station signed on the air. Never before could Old Pueblo audiences hear up-to-the-minute news and live entertainment in their homes! Plenty has changed in radio since then, but it was a wild ride, and local broadcasting legend Ray Lindstrom wants to tell you about it.
Ray will deliver a lively lecture about radio here in Tucson and take you through the four major changes that happened in those 100 years. From one station in 1926, through the Golden Age, to Top Forty radio, the popularity of FM, and finally the enormous mixture of what’s on the air today.
