Bring your latest creative project and settle in for an evening of crafting, community, and film.
Thread & Reel Lounge is a relaxed craft-and-movie gathering hosted by Crafting Resilience. Whether you’re sewing, mending, embroidering, sketching, collaging, knitting, crocheting, or working on another portable creative project, you’re invited to pull up a chair and create alongside others while The Codebreaker plays in the background.
About the FilmThe Codebreaker tells the remarkable true story of Elizebeth Smith Friedman, a pioneering cryptanalyst whose brilliant codebreaking work helped convict notorious bootleggers during Prohibition and dismantle a vast Nazi spy network during World War II. Despite transforming the fields of cryptography and national security, her contributions remained largely unrecognized for decades.
This inspiring documentary highlights the power of perseverance, intelligence, and determination while celebrating a woman whose work changed history. It’s a fascinating story of resilience, innovation, and the lasting impact one person can have behind the scenes.
English subtitles will be enabled for accessibility.
