About this Event

A Shrine is a sacred place, which is dedicated to a specific deity, ancestor, animal or miracle where one shows respect and honor. Generally they are stationary places where people visit and pray. For this workshop you will create a shrine that is small, movable, closable, and just for you. You can share it, of course, but when you want to close it, you can.

How? Because in this workshop you will build your shrine in a box, a basket, a suitcase, something that closes and can be carried away with you, ready to be opened again. I have gathered many unique small boxes and containers of varying shapes and sizes to offer for participants in this workshop. After listening for our guides to show us what they want (which may or may not be different than what you want) for the shrine, you will have the opportunity to decorate it with paint, fabric and embellishments that are provided. If you have special items for your shrine, bring them.

There are many things/people/ideas/intentions that might call to you for Shrine building at this important time. If you have a small box or container that you want to use for your sacred Shrine, please bring it. If you have items from home (fabric, items, sticks, crystals, stones...etc) that want to be a part of your sacred space, please bring them. I have many items to share as well.

Requested donation is $10-30, which includes all supplies, including your choice of box/container from the ones available.
