Trópico Norte ist ein zeitgenössisches Jazz-Ensemble mit Fokus auf der Entwicklung eigener Kompositionen, die aus dem Dialog verschiedener kultureller Traditionen entstehen. Durch Improvisation, klangliche Erkundung und die Verschmelzung unterschiedlicher musikalischer Sprachen verfolgt die Gruppe eine kontinuierliche Suche nach neuen Ausdrucksmöglichkeiten im heutigen Jazz.
Das Ensemble vereint Musiker*innen unterschiedlicher Nationalitäten: mit Maria Mendoza, Norman Peplow, Camilo Villa und Ayu Requena treffen unterschiedliche Erfahrungen, Einflüsse und Sensibilitäten aufeinander, und formen eine gemeinsame, dynamische Klangidentität, die sich ständig weiterentwickelt. Die Musik bewegt sich zwischen Komposition und Spontaneität und schafft Klanglandschaften, die zum aufmerksamen Zuhören und zu interkultureller Verbindung einladen.

Trópico Norte is a contemporary jazz ensemble focused on developing original compositions that emerge from a dialogue between diverse cultural traditions. Through improvisation, sonic exploration, and the fusion of different musical languages, the group is on a continuous quest for new forms of expression in today's jazz.
The ensemble brings together musicians of diverse nationalities: with Maria Mendoza, Norman Peplow, Camilo Villa, and Ayu Requena, different experiences, influences, and sensibilities converge to form a shared, dynamic sonic identity that is constantly evolving. The music moves between composition and spontaneity, creating soundscapes that invite attentive listening and foster intercultural connection.
