Try the group meet-up! This event is publicly posted so I have hidden the list of attendees and please be cautious of what you post in discussion.
I coordinate a low-key, social homeschool group with kids mainly ages 7-14 and am opening it up to a few new families. We typically meet once a week during the traditional school year (sporadically in summer) and do a combination of educational activities, field trips, park/beach days, and some holiday parties; I like to say we do the fun school stuff without the school. There is no cost other than field trip fees and occasionally bringing supplies to events.
Group requirements:
• At least one child of legal homeschooling age in Wisconsin- younger siblings are typically welcomed but activities and field trips are not designed for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers
• Able to somewhat regularly attend meet-ups on Wednesdays at 1 pm; parental supervision of all children is required at all times
• Tolerance is paramount; we have a range of religious beliefs, family dynamics, parenting style, education choices, life experience, etc. Not everyone will be like you, but you need to be tolerant to join this community.
