Warhammer 40,000 Doubles Try Something New Organised Play Event:CONQUEST OF CHAMPIONS
Warhammer Aberdeen - 25th April 2026
Welcome generals to our next Warhammer 40,000 Try Something New doubles event for 10th Edition. This event will take place in store on 25th April 2026. To celebrate the ongoing campaigns for Warhammer 40,000, we will be hosting a Organised Play Event utilising the new Crucible of Champions rules for custom character models!
What is Conquest of Champions?
Conquest of Champions will be a 3-game event playing 2000 points Matched Play games with a partner - each player will bring a different 1000 point army. This will take place on Saturday the 25th of April and will follow the below schedule:
9:30am - Registration
10:00 - 12:30 - Round 1
12:30 - 13:00 - Lunch Break
13:00 - 15:30 - Round 2
15:45 - 18:15 - Round 3
18:30 - Results & Awards
Please be on time for registration and your games! Being late may result in you losing your spot for the tournament, a point penalty, or game forfeiture.
What do I need to bring?
Your Army - Each player requires a 1000 point, Matched Play Legal army, which may include a character made using the Crucible of Champions rules. These must be different factions for each player (i.e. no 2x Space Marines with different Chapters).
Your Crucible of Champions character & datasheet (if using one) - each player will gain an additional Command Point at the start of the game if they have a Crucible of Champions character model in their army list.
Rules - access to a copy of the Core Rules, as well as your Codex, and any additional datasheets needed (physical copies, or accessible in the App).
Chapter Approved 2025-26 Mission Deck - one needed per team
Dice, Tape Measures, Objective Markers
What else do I need to know?
This is a Warhammer 40000 Doubles Event for 10th Edition! So you need to get yourself a partner and both sign up in store to take part in the event. If you need us to help you find a partner, sign up and we will try to pair you up with someone else also looking for a teammate.
Additional information:
- Players cannot share points when building their armies.
- An individual player’s Faction must be different from their teammates.
- There is no requirement for the two armies to be historically able to “ally” along with each other.
- Any Unique units can only be included once in a team.
- Each player chooses a Warlord for their individual 1000 point army.
- For the purposes of any rules that state friendly or enemy units, your teammate's army counts as neither.
List Submission: All lists must be submitted ONE WEEK before the event and sent to the store email address: [email protected] This allows the staff time to double check the lists are all correct and legal. Please make sure to include all Wargear and Enhancement choices clearly in your list - simple text format or exported from the Warhammer 40,000 App is perfect! If there are any issues with your list we will notify the player and give them till the day before the event to amend their list. If it is not amended, there may be disqualification, or penalisation towards the players final event result.
Terrain: Each table will be allocated a selection of Ruins, Armoured Containers, Barricades and Fuel Pipes. All first floor levels of Ruins are considered to be 5” or less in height for purposes of determining plunging fire and engagement range. All Barricades and Fuel Pipes will be considered to be 2” or less in height so you can move over them without penalty.
Painting: Both players' armies should be painted to a Battle Ready standard. Examples of battle ready models can be seen in-store. Any armies not painted to this standard will not receive the bonus 10 points for being fully painted. If you have any questions contact a staff member for help.
Crucible of Champions: Please make best efforts to make sure your character model represents their datasheet for weapon loadouts, armour type, etc - if unsure check with staff in advance!
If you have any questions about the event then please get in touch and we’ll be glad to answer them. Contact us through Facebook, email: [email protected] or telephone: 01224 649779.
