The Pisces will be hosting another fun TRY IT meet!These meets are small compared to our normal meets in the summer, as only Pisces swimmers will be attending. The purpose of this meet is to get kids into racing in an atmosphere that is more relaxed than normal competitions.
There will not be any disqualifications or awards, it is purely to introduce new swimmers to racing and give our experienced swimmers some racing practice.
All of the competitive groups are invited (Junior/Intermediate/Regional/Provincial/Masters), as well as Pre-Competitive. However, due to the racing being in the lane pool, we ask that you only respond if your Pre-Competitive child is comfortable swimming two lengths in deep water on their own. Fins will be provided for those that need them.
Warmups will begin at 10:30am, with racing to begin at approximately 11:00am. The meet should run until approximately 1pm, but typically the younger swimmers leave a bit earlier than that. Due to the BCSSA 2 hour rule, your swimmer will only be able to attend ONE practice the week following the meet. This meet technically counts as a one hour swim.
Since the swimmers will be at the pool for a while, it is our job to make sure they have fun. Bring yoga mats for them to sit on between races, lots of snacks, drinks, and extra towels. Something to sit and engage with (books, Nintendo Switch, crafts etc...). It is also a great opportunity for your kids to socialize with each other and make friends!
If your child is young or hasn't done a swim meet before, it is appreciated if you stay and help them out.
