Try an Exoskeleton: Free First Step Workshop at Palmer Park
About this Event
Your first step into Exo-Hike
Discover a better way to move through nature.
Join Exo-Hike Colorado at Palmer Park in Colorado Springs for a free First Step Community Workshop. Meet the team, explore how a hiking exoskeleton works, and experience a guided introduction in an outdoor setting.
Whether you’re curious about the technology or considering a future Exo-Hike adventure, this is a welcoming place to learn, ask questions, and take your first steps.
Our outdoor workshops visit locations throughout Colorado on select dates. Choose the available date that works for you and join us for a shared introduction to the Exo-Hike experience.
What to expect
- An introduction to Exo-Hike and exoskeleton-assisted outdoor adventures.
- A demonstration of the equipment, fit, and basic controls.
- An opportunity for a short, supervised trial, subject to equipment fit and participation requirements.
- Time to ask questions and explore options for future adventures.
This is a group workshop with shared equipment and turns for guided trials. Expect a mix of learning, observing, and hands-on participation, rather than continuous use of an exoskeleton throughout the event.
The workshop focuses on getting familiar with the experience. A full guided hike is available separately through our Guided Excursions.
Who this workshop is for
This workshop welcomes first-time users, curious outdoor enthusiasts, and people exploring a new way to enjoy time outside. No previous exoskeleton experience is needed.
To take part in a trial, you must be able to walk, maintain your balance, and support your own body weight independently, including while the equipment is not providing assistance. You should also be comfortable walking on the outdoor surfaces at the workshop location and following the host’s instructions.
Our hiking exoskeletons are recreational equipment. They do not replace a mobility aid, provide balance support, or serve as medical treatment or rehabilitation.
If you need another person or a mobility aid to stand or walk safely, the hands-on trial is not an appropriate fit. Contact Exo-Hike before registering if you have questions about participation or would like to attend to observe and learn.
What to bring
- Secure, closed-toe walking or hiking shoes with good traction.
- Comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely.
- Drinking water.
- Weather-appropriate layers and sun protection.
- Your registration confirmation.
Exoskeleton equipment for the guided trials is provided. Keep personal belongings light so you can move comfortably during fitting and practice.
