About this Event
Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) is for anyone working or volunteering in any area with children and teens who might be coming from hard places. Foster parents, adoptive parents, kinship homes, educators & coaches, youth workers, church staff & volunteers, therapists & counsellors, social workers, first responders, and medical professionals, etc.
Join Safe Families Steinbach for a day of inspiration, motivation, and support as we come together to spread hope for the journey ahead.
Hope for the Journey equips parents, caregivers, and ministry leaders with the practical tools and understanding to build connection and trust with children and teens, empowering them to thrive inside and outside their home.
Through proven, trusted content, Hope for the Journey explores the fundamentals of Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®) across five sessions—chock-full of knowledge, insight, and practical tools. Rooted in research and neuroscience, the Connecting, Empowering, and Correcting Principles of TBRI will guide you to a better understanding of your child’s or teen’s needs and equip you to adequately meet those needs.
Developed by Drs. Karyn Purvis and David Cross at the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development at TCU, TBRI is a research-based, scientific care model designed to meet the relational and developmental needs of children and teens impacted by trauma as well as the needs of the parents and caregivers who are seeking to help them thrive and flourish.
Caring for children who have experienced trauma is hard—no questions asked. And while our journeys can be exhausting and challenging, there is much beauty and hope to experience as well.
Children and teens need to know they are safe, secure, valued, and loved, yet key developmental and relational needs are often overlooked with traditional parenting models.
This training is a 1 day, 5-session resource designed to equip parents, caregivers, teachers, church leaders, and professionals with the tools to build connection and trust with the children and teens in their care.
Workbooks will be provided, and you will receive a Certificate of Completion for the training.
Light lunch, snacks, and coffee will be provided. (No gluten-free options available, please bring your own lunch if you have allergies to consider.)
So mark your calendars, invite your friends, and get ready for a day of hope, healing, and happiness.
Registration is required to attend. Get your tickets today!
TBRI Training will be in the Reception Hall at Southland Church, Steinbach (park at east side of building, enter into Family Ministries door).
