About this Event
Trust & Red Flags is a 2-hour interactive workshop designed to help neurodivergent young people aged 12–15 (socially, developmentally, and/or intellectually):
- Identify safe adults, including understanding healthy boundaries with support workers
- Recognise grooming behaviours and red flags in friendships, dating, online, and professional relationships
- Practise assertive communication and boundary-setting
- Understand that it is the adult’s duty to uphold boundaries, and feel empowered to speak up if something feels unsafe
- Explore how power, authority, age, and life experience impact consent, coercion, and healthy relationships
- Understand the reality that some adults may seem “cool” or fun, and practise weighing cool vs unsafe behaviour
- Specifically understand the nuance of support worker relationships, including what is appropriate vs inappropriate
⚠️ Trigger/Content Note
This workshop covers abuse, grooming, boundary violations, and unsafe adult behaviour, which may be triggering for some participants, particularly those with trauma histories. Content is presented in a supportive, empowering, and affirming way, and participants can opt out of discussions or activities if needed. While challenging at times, this is important and empowering knowledge to keep themselves safe.
