About this Event
After a hugely successful limited run on Bowen Island, British Columbia, Elkabong Theatre Projects is bringing Sam Shepard’s True West to Toronto!
While their mother is away, estranged brothers Austin and Lee find themselves holed up together in her California home. Austin, a disciplined screenwriter, is on the verge of a career-defining deal. Lee, a drifter with a knack for trouble, has his own ideas about success. As their rivalry escalates into a ferocious battle of wills, the lines between fact and fiction, love and resentment, creation and destruction begin to blur.
A darkly comic showdown between two sides of the American Dream—where myths unravel, family history resurfaces, and more than a few beers are cracked open.
