For as long as he can remember, Tim High has been singing. The son of hip parents in the early seventies, he was brought up on a steady dose of what is now considered classic rock. One of his earliest, and fondest, memories is singing along with his mom to Jim Croce’s “Bad, Bad Leroy Brown”. From there, Tim began singing along to everything he could dig out of his folk’s record collection, from Van Morrison to The Who, Cat Stevens to the Beatles. Although his influences are constantly evolving, it is this music, from the formative years, that has remained a foundation in Tim’s life, and the music that he loves to perform around the Northern California area.
Tim grew up in New Jersey and started singing with bands in his early teens. Over the course of a dozen years he performed around upstate New York, New York City, Boston, Philadelphia, and anywhere in between. His skills were honed in various genres of music ranging from hard rock to a subtler jazz/funk style, his voice being described as both soothing and powerful.
Following his heart, he left the east coast in the summer of 1998, heading west. Without a destination in mind, Tim knew he had found a home while visiting the Sierra mountains. Having brought along, and learning to play a guitar, Tim now enjoys a full musical collaboration with his current band, the eponymous Tim High and the Mighty.
Made up of long time veterans of the NorCal music scene, Tim High & The Mighty bring new life to good time rock n roll. Drawing on a diverse selection of tunes, ranging from classics to deep tracks, you'll hear everything spanning hard rock to jam, funk, and maybe even a touch of reggae. This unique combination of styles allows the band to create a musical synergy that will have your soul grooving and your dancing feet moving.
Tim High can be seen performing solo acoustic or jamming with the band at many of Northern California’s favorite venues. You will also find him sitting in with many of the area’s other talented musicians and bands.
