As the Truckee River flows through the heart of our city, its ecosystem provides refuge for plants, animals and people alike. From the iconic cottonwoods that shade the historic passage of the Lahontan Cutthroat Trout, to the abundant wild rose that feed the Stellar's Jays traveling down from the Sierras in the winter, the biodiversity found in and along the Truckee River forms a fascinating web of relationships.
Take a guided walk with Tara Tran, Technical Support Lead for the to learn more about how these relationships thrive, even along the most developed stretch of our river. Then, join us in being a positive part of the ecosystem by spreading native wildflower seeds.
