TRR Fredericksburg - Biweekly Richmond Lower James Intermediate SessionsPlease read the entire description.
TRR Richmond is hosting INTERMEDIATE level paddling sessions on the Lower James (LJ) for Veterans! Participants must sign up no later than 24 hrs in advance of the session. If you have never paddled the LJ with TRR before you need to be cleared prior to joining for the needed skills.
Beginners with their own equipment can contact the below POC to discuss future potential Upper James runs if there is interest.
Note: The LJ sessions will be water level dependent. If the river is above 6 ft the session will be moved to the Upper James for fun there and will be noted on the FB page in advance. If there are storms predicted during the time of our session it will be canceled and noted on FB. All sessions & locations are at the discretion and judgement of the trip POC based on weather, water levels/temps and participating Veteran skill levels.
Participants must come with their own gear. Participants should have the necessary ferrying, eddying, edge control and combat rolling skills needed for Class 3 whitewater. If gear is needed that needs to be arranged with the TRR Fredericksburg staff in advance as it is not located onsite at the meeting location in Richmond.
We will meet at the 14th Street take out to set shuttle and plan to leave the takeout at exactly 5 PM for the put in. Be dressed and ready to go!
