Troy, MI: Rewrite Your Story with Optimistic Personality Disorder
About this Event
Rewrite Your Story: A Seriously Powerful Workshop + Seriously Fun Comedy Show
What if you could take a day to step out of the day-to-day, look at the stories that have shaped your life, decide which ones are still serving you, and rewrite the ones that aren't?
Rewrite Your Story is a one-of-a-kind experience that combines a powerful, interactive personal development workshop with an evening performance of the nationally touring one-woman comedy show Optimistic Personality Disorder.
You can join us for the workshop, the show, or make a day of it and experience both.
THE WORKSHOP: REWRITE YOUR STORY
Spend the day with Merit Kahn and Natalie Luke, PhD exploring the beliefs, patterns, responsibilities and stories that influence how you show up at work, in relationships and in your own life.
This isn't a day of sitting in a ballroom listening to people talk at you.
Through conversation, reflection and interactive exercises, you'll have an opportunity to look at where you've been, what you're carrying, what you may be ready to put down and what you want the next chapter of your life to look like.
Together, Merit and Natalie bring two complementary perspectives to the room.
Merit's Rewrite & Rewire work helps you uncover the stories you've collected along the way, challenge the beliefs underneath them and consciously choose what you want to write next.
Natalie's work around Trust Tax™ and Responsibility Reset explores what happens when capable people become the ones everyone depends on, and how to recognize patterns that can quietly drain your energy, effectiveness and joy.
You'll leave with new perspective, practical tools and a clearer sense of what you want to create next.
This experience is especially designed for people who have accomplished a lot, handled a lot and been responsible for a lot, but know there is still more they want from their lives.
THEN WE LAUGH.
After a day spent examining the stories we tell ourselves, you'll see what happens when one woman puts hers under a spotlight. Your ticket INCLUDES the evening show!
Optimistic Personality Disorder is Merit Kahn's nationally touring one-woman comedy show about resilience, reinvention and the absurdity of real life.
If a TED Talk and a tequila shot had a baby, it would be this show.
Through stand-up, storytelling and theatrical comedy, Merit takes audiences through decades of life, love, motherhood, marriage, divorce, health scares, career twists and the moments that force us to decide what the hell we're going to do next.
It's funny. It's honest. It's unexpectedly moving.
And underneath all the laughter is the same idea you'll explore during the workshop:
You don't get to rewrite what happened. But you absolutely get to rewrite the story you tell about it and decide what happens next.
COME FOR THE WORKSHOP.
COME FOR THE SHOW.
OR EXPERIENCE THE WHOLE STORY.
