Before gobbling down that turkey, join Troutman Ruritan Club to lace up for a cause this Thanksgiving Day (November 26) at the first annual Troutman Gobbler Run 5K.
This new community tradition invites runners and walkers of all ages to kick off their holiday with a healthy, festive 5K through Troutman. Participants may also bring nonperishable food to the collection area to help stock the community Blessing Box at Troutman Town Hall.
Runners will do more than just earning an extra slice of pumpkin pie. All proceeds go directly back into the Troutman community to support vital local initiatives Including:
Student Scholarships
Community Service Projects
Family Assistance
Domestic Violence Support
Elderly Assistance
School Tech Fees for Students
Christmas gifts for underprivileged children and women’s shelter residents
Put that turkey in the oven, gather up your family, and join your neighbors in making lasting holiday memories and build a stronger Troutman together— one step at a time!
The race starts at 8:00 a.m. at ESC Park (338 North Avenue). Same-day registration will be available online up until just before race time. Entrance fees are $35 plus a $3.10 online sign-up fee. Runners must be registered by October 31 to be guaranteed a t-shirt.
🦃 Every Gobbler Gets:
A sweet turkey finisher medal to proudly wear at the dinner table
An exclusive race shirt featuring a turkey who clearly realized it’s Turkey Day — basically a tuxedo for Thanksgiving!
A swag bag filled with treats and snacks.
🏆 Awards:
Overall Top 3 Male and Female runners.
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place medals in each age category (male & female).
Age categories will be determined after registration begins based on the participation number.
Whether you’re running for a personal best or strolling for the stuffing, TRC can’t wait to see everyone at the starting line. Let’s make this Thanksgiving one to remember! 🦃🏃♀️🏃♀️
