On Saturday, February 8th, Mondo is pleased to invite you to the Tromsø book launch of “Å Samle Tanker” by Trond Ansten.“Å Samle Tanker” is an artist book based on Ansten's two exhibitions “Det lange treet i havet” (Nordnorsk Kunstnersenter, Svolvær, 2024) and “Å fange en gåte” (Terminal B Kunsthall, Kirkenes, 2024) that dives deeper into his artistic practice at large.
The launch will include a conversation between the artist and two invited guests; philosopher from UiT, Øyvind Stokke, and author and playwright Tale Næss. Stokke works with the ethical aspects of climate and energy issues, his "tools" are argumentation and dialogue. Næss has a doctorate in artistic exploration and has a special ability to draw lines between different fields. The talk will be moderated by Tanya Busse (Mondo Books).
As part of the event, we´re also pleased to invite you to a musical performance by multidisciplinary artist Marita Solberg, who´s visual art, chants, music and compositions draw on elements from both Sami, Finnish and northern culture.
With servings of Kveikale this is guaranteed to be a must-attend event!
The book “Å Samle Tanker” is a collaborative project between the Nordnorsk Kunstnersenter and Pikene på Broen. The project is supported by the Bergesenstiftelsen and Fritt Ord.
