Born in Estonia and having traveled across the Nordic countries, Germany, and the Shetland Islands, Johanne-Adele Jüssi has crafted her sound by blending the folk melodies she encountered along the way. With the help of her talented trio, featuring Bendik Lund Haanshus (guitar/guitar synth) and Christo Stangness (double bass), Jüssi invites us into the utopian dreamscape of Lynx Valley—a place as familiar as it is unknown, like something you’ve heard before but never quite like this.
Her music flows with the freshness and tunefulness of the northern European folk tradition, but it’s not confined by it. Jüssi’s compositions spark with joy, curiosity, and a spirit of discovery—blurring the line between Norwegian and Estonian folk, jazz, and electronics, creating an individual voice that’s distinctly her own.
