Ottawa’s finest two-trombone jazz trio is returning to GigSpace!
Trombonists Peter Turner and Mark Ferguson draw from a vast repertoire of tunes that showcase the unique features of their instrument. With accompaniment from guitar virtuoso Tim Bedner, this event promises a swinging mix of popular and lesser-known standards – with good humour and a few surprises along the way.
In addition to being one of Canada’s top trombonists, Mark Ferguson is a pianist, composer, arranger, producer, and educator. Peter Turner studied privately with Mark in the late-1980s and performs with various traditional jazz groups in Ottawa and Toronto. Tim Bedner is a performance instructor at Carleton University and in high demand as a guitarist for singers and instrumentalists.
The Trombone Summit is popular with Ottawa audiences. Since the early 2000s, the group has only performed once every couple of years. Their rare GigSpace appearances usually sell out well in advance so reserve early to avoid disappointment!
