About this Event

Bog Iron Brewing is a full production brewery (with a decent-sized brewing operation located in the back of the building)
Legally, we can not serve any alcohol other than what we produce ourselves within this building (wine and cider would be separate licenses that would be extremely difficult for us to hold)
Established in 2011, our first beer was produced, in this building, on Jan 1, 2013
The entire original brewery was housed within 399 sq ft within this building and was started by three homebrewer friends who, at the time, had a combined 50+ years of brewing experience under their belts.
“Bog Iron” is a raw iron ore commonly found throughout southern New England. It was mined and smelted in the foundries of the original colonies starting in the 1600's. Remains of the Chartley Iron Works, which was built in the late 1600's are still standing about 2 miles from our location.
Almost everything you see in our taproom (bar, bar-back tap-box, floor, etc.) was built by hand, in-house, by our staff. Any furniture in our tap room that uses barrel staves was made in-house using barrels from our brewing process. With any tables you see with “inlaid boards”, every one of those boards were recycled from pallets that were used to deliver materials to the brewery.
Our current tap room, up until December of 2021 was still “temporary” space occupied during COVID shutdowns (and not very pretty at all). Since then, it has become our long-term space and we continue to improve it as we go for the comfort and enjoyment of our guests.
