Trippin' Blues Amsterdam is back! This biennial (every 2 years) Blues dancing festival has a staggering 6 nights of parties. We kick off the festival in De Nieuwe Anita, Amsterdam west with a father‑and‑son duo from The Netherlands: Jerôme & Danny de Vijlder.
Jerôme is an Amsterdam‑based guitarist, singer and blues harpist whose heart lies with blues, soul, surf and old‑school rock’n’roll – you might know him from his band Doctor Velvet and their debut album “New Breed”.
Danny de Vijlder is a respected name in the Dutch blues scene, having worked with artists like Boyd Small, Monti Amundson and Lazy Lester, so when they share a stage you get deep‑rooted blues, strong stories and a sound that was made for slow drags and cozy late‑night dances.
They’ve played De Nieuwe Anita before and know exactly how to work that intimate room, from whisper‑soft slow blues to mid‑tempo tracks that pull you onto the floor without you even noticing.
