Triple Trail Challenge 2026

The Triple Trail Challenge - 2026 edition. The Figure 8 is back for round 2, bringing back a course that was loved by riders last and if you weren't able to attend it brings a whole new experience to your favorite ride, all while continuing our tradition of supporting the trails you love. Since 2020, the Tree Fort Bikes - Triple Trail Challenge has raised an incredible $100,000 for the Potawatomi Trail's Poto Revitalization Project, and for 2026, we're shifting our fundraising focus to the DTE Energy Foundation Trails. Every single penny of profit goes directly back into maintaining and improving these incredible trails.
What to look forward to for 2026:
- Modern Trail-Focused Route: Triple Trail brings you some of the best sections that both the Poto and DTE have to offer
- Prospect Hill: Be among the first to conquer this brand-new, 1.3-mile section of singletrack, featuring one of the biggest climbs on the route! This exciting addition is exclusively open to bikes for the Triple Trail Challenge event only and will be closed to bikes after the event. Make sure you experience it while you can!
- DTE Route: Say hello to more technical and challenging trails at DTE, including Big Kame and Sugar.
- MOAH Descent: You'll be flying down MOAH Hill on the Waterloo-Pinckney Trail, rather than climbing it!
- The Full Poto: Explore the Potawatomi Trail like never before! Our 2026 route incorporates all seven new sections and improvements from the ongoing Poto Revitalization Project.
- Jolly Pumpkin Packet Pickup: Join the PotoMBA crew at Jolly Pumpkin in Dexter for packet pickup. Then check out their delicious pizza and great beers.
- New Beer Sponsors: Quench your thirst with fantastic brews from our new sponsors, Jolly Pumpkin and North Peak Brewing Company.
- DTE Projects: We're investing in the DTE trails! Get ready for a new pavilion at the Cassidy Parking Lot, providing a much-needed community hub for rides, events, and gatherings.
Event Details:
The Tree Fort Bikes - Triple Trail Challenge will run for two days: Friday, September 18th, and Saturday, September 19th! (Rain date September 20th) This means pre-registration is mandatory, and once we hit our cap of 1,000 riders, entries will close. This is a lightly supported, ride-at-your-own-pace event, allowing you to tackle the entire course or any variation you choose.
There will be no day-of registration. Be sure to pick up your number plate, wristband, map, and any purchased gear at one of these convenient locations:
- Tree Fort Bikes (1866 Whittaker Rd, Ypsilanti): September 12th - September 18th
- Jolly Pumpkin Dexter (2319 Bishop Cir E, Dexter): Thursday, September 17th, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
- Morning of the event: Limited pickup available if you can't make the other times.
Whether you ride with friends or make new ones, join Tree Fort Bikes in supporting the Potawatomi Mountain Biking Association! Remember to bring enough food, water, a spare tube, pump, and all other essentials for a strenuous 45+ mile ride.
