Our season final, expertly conducted by Alexander Walker, is a celebration of orchestral power and virtuosity.
Berlioz’s effervescent Roman Carnival Overture opens the concert in high spirits, before Prokofiev’s thrilling Sinfonia Concertante – a dazzling showpiece for cello and orchestra.
Rachmaninov’s mighty Symphony No. 1 then brings the season to a dramatic conclusion, its darkly romantic energy surging from the very first bars.
