There’s something special about Halloween in historic Newburgh! From creative costumes and glowing jack-o'-lanterns to neighbors welcoming families to their doorsteps, it's a wonderful opportunity to enjoy our community and make lasting memories.
As our little ghosts, goblins, superheroes, and princesses head out for an evening of trick-or-treating, the Town of Newburgh, along with the Newburgh Police Department and Newburgh Volunteer Fire Department, encourages everyone to make safety a priority.
🎃 TRICK-OR-TREAT SAFETY REMINDERS
💡 Light the Way: Residents welcoming trick-or-treaters should leave their porch lights on.
👨👩👧👦 Stay Together: Parents and guardians should accompany young children.
🍬 Check the Candy: Have a parent or guardian inspect treats before enjoying them.
🚶 Walk, Don't Run: Use sidewalks whenever possible and be mindful of your surroundings.
🚦 Cross Safely: Cross streets at intersections and only when traffic is clear.
🚗 Drivers, Stay Alert: Slow down, watch carefully for pedestrians, and be especially cautious in residential neighborhoods.
🧡 A SPECIAL MESSAGE TO OUR COMMUNITY
Halloween is a great reminder of what makes Newburgh special — friendly neighbors, welcoming neighborhoods, and a community that looks out for one another.
We encourage everyone to help make this a safe, enjoyable evening for all our families and visitors.
