About JED: A Norman, Oklahoma native and an alumnus of OU, Jesse Ed Davis conquered the world by becoming THE most sought-after guitar player for a who's-who of Rock, Blues, Country, and Pop icons in the 60s/70s/80s - and recorded three solo albums with many of those icons guesting. Music royalty like John Lennon, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Taj Mahal, Harry Nilsson, Keith Moon, The Faces, Leon Russell, Jackson Browne, Levon Helm, Gene Clark, Gram Parsons, Steve Miller, John Lee Hooker, BB King, Albert King, Ry Cooder, Leonard Cohen, Conway Twitty, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Neil Diamond, Cher, and so many more recognized his brilliance and gave him a platform – yet he remains virtually unknown in his own hometown. One of the first Native Americans (Kiowa/Comanche/Muscogee/Seminole) to gain mainstream success, Davis was inducted into the Native American Music Hall of Fame, Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame, and the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame. "Jesse Ed Davis: Natural Anthem," a career-spanning exhibition celebrating his life and legacy opens to the public at the Bob Dylan Center in Tulsa on November 15th, curated by Joy Harjo and Dr. Douglas Miller. A tribute concert featuring Jackson Browne, Taj Mahal, Joy Harjo and the Graffiti Band is set for February 6th, 2025 at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center. A documentary of Davis is also in development by Peabody Award winner Sterlin Harjo (Reservation Dogs, The Sensitive Kind). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesse_Ed_Davis
