Part magician, part comedian, and totally dysfunctional, Nathan Tricky Allen will be bringing his acclaimed “adults only” blend of magic and comedy to the Mississippi Moon Bar (at the Diamond Jo Casino) (301 Bell Street, Dubuque, IA) on Friday, September 12th, 2025, at 8:00 PM, and will also feature local comedian and Woman Warrior, Bama Ohnesorge!Proceeds from this event will benefit the Tri-State Women Warriors – a group that serves to provide connection and advocacy for women veterans. Yes, Nathan Tricky Allen is a magician, but don’t be fooled – you will see NO tuxedo and NO sparkly boxes in this show. Instead, Nathan combines sleight-of-hand magic, stand-up comedy, dangerous tricks, stupid stunts, immature pranks, and hilarious (and unpredictable) audience interaction into one of the very few magic shows in the entire country that is both geared for adults AND funny.
With over 25 years of professional on-stage experience, the best trick up Nathan’s sleeve is his ability to connect with a crowd, and it’s a trick he can pull off whether he is at a comedy club, a biker bar, or a Fortune 500 corporate event – each of which regularly give him standing ovations.
Known for being naughty and tons of fun, without being gross or offensive, Nathan’s personality-driven performances have been described as “One of the funniest magic shows EVER!” (Happenings Magazine; Kenosha, WI), “Star entertainment!” (Inside Magic; Los Angeles, CA), and “A laugh-filled night with a wild and edgy magician!” (Seattle Performs; Seattle).
The International Brotherhood of Magicians presented Nathan with the Justo Hijo Magic Award, based on skill, originality, and entertainment value. He has performed at private parties for heads of state, has appeared on NBC, ABC, The CW, PBS, and TV3 (Europe), and he has been invited to entertain at special corporate events across America for 3M, Budweiser, Ford, Honda, Chevrolet, Wal-Mart, and Facebook, to name just a few.
And yet, in a typical example of his priorities, he insists that he is most proud of being elected Class Clown.
The show will be opened by local comedian and Woman Warrior, Bama Ohnesorge! Originally from Alabama (hence the nickname), Bama is a serious smartass… primarily due to bartending and managing bars for years (which is basically a job that is half therapist and half comedian). Her skewed but relatable sense of humor also stems from raising 2.5 children, being a long-haul trucker, and serving our country in the United States Military. A certified Life Coach who has “seen it all” when it comes to late nights and bad decisions, she began taking her first steps into stand-up comedy less than a year ago, and already has a natural presence and confidence on stage.
Following Bama’s act will be Allen’s full headlining show – the same performance that has been seen at comedy clubs and corporate events nationwide.
