Tri-Cities Film Meetup June and Act Your Heart Out!

Network with the best and brightest filmmakers in the Waterloo region! There's professionals of every experience level and every department, and they're looking to meet you. Swap set stories, tell us about your new projects, or talk shop about the newest gear. If you are looking to get on more sets, this is the best event to get you there.

This month we'll be hosting a fun new acting challenge (postponed from May) for all our performer members. Find a rousing new monologue below that we entice you to give us your best Independence Day style performance! Find the pop-up studio in our secondary space at the Annex which will be set up with a green screen, lights and camera. We'll be cutting together the best performances together in a new promo and post it on our website. It's a great chance to get seen by our members, directors, producers, and casting agents in the Tri-City region. We can't wait to see your take!

"The world is in need of legends, and enduring tales that span generations, yet we are scattered, and divided.
On our desks are empty pages, waiting for the next great works to be written, but are imprisoned in our heads, and distracted by the day to day.
There are boxes with cameras, lights, and microphones collecting dust in dark closets. An armoury for creativity laid down in disuse.
Our warriors. The faces that need to be seen, the voices to be heard, and the leaders who guide them to their calling remain hidden. No one to record them. No one to bring light to the set.
So, we call to you.
Writers, unsheathe your pens, your keyboards, your vision, and become the architects of greatness.
Cinematographers, gaffers, sound techs. Be the chariots, torch bearers, and lancers that lead the charge.
Actors, producers, and directors of all kinds, you are our knights, our lords, our generals. Without you, there is no kingdom.
It’s time to unite and to rally together in this place laying within our grasp. This place to find others like us who are so very different, but are drawn to the same guiding star!
Come my friends, my colleagues, my kin, and forge our destinies here and now, in the TRI-CITIES!"
