About this Event
TRESOR make your own workshop: FREE drop-in iron age spiral ring
Join small metal crafts educator and jeweller, Tasha Scannell, to experiment playing with copper wire to create a ring inspired by iron age spiral rings.
Choose your thickness of wire and get bending. Follow a few key instructions in creating the spirals and then use your imagination. Using pliers and hammers during the process, you will learn how to handle some of the basic tools used in jewellery making.
This is a free ‘drop in’ session, however, please select a free ticket to give the tutor some indication of how many people may attend. The session will be open for one and a half hours, but the making of your piece will take anything from 10-15minutes.
This workshop is suitable for 10+ (under 16 must be accompanied by an adult).
Tasha Scanell: "I teach all kinds of small metal crafting - jewellery, trinkets and little treasures to spark wonder, joy and creativity. I'm all about the process of making, learning new things and practising skills...the end product is just a lovely addition to the journey. I teach for Truro-Penwith College at their Penwith campus and in my own fully equipped workshop in Hayle. I love all things metal, but get extra excited when it comes to casting. I love the alchemy and magic of the changing state of the material and how each metal behaves a little differently"
