Trees of the Preserve with Trees Atlanta
This Second Saturday Safari come learn about the forest that expands across Piedmont region, throughout the Preserve, and all of Atlanta!
In Atlanta alone, our forests remove 19 million pounds of carbon waste for us every day. Walk through the trails foliage with Max and Kent Watkins of Trees Atlanta and learn all about the diverse species that we walk by in our parks, neighborhoods and streets. Trees are a natural background in our lives, but our world wouldn't be the same without them!
In this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to:
- Explore the forest of the Preserve
- Learn about what trees do for our ecosystem
- Ask questions directly to Trees Atlanta
- Admire the beauty of all the trees
What are Second Saturday Safaris at Blue Heron?
An outdoor education series, open to adults and families alike. Each workshop offers a deep dive into the ecology of our protected greenspace, highlighting the importance of the species that call Blue Heron home.
On the second Saturday of each month from 10AM to 12PM, we’ll gather at the Preserve with guest experts for engaging talks and guided walks through the trails. It’s a chance to deepen your understanding of the natural world, connect with passionate experts, and experience the beauty of Blue Heron in a new way.
