COURSE DESCRIPTION IN ENGLISH
Kinetic Orchestra’s Partnering workshops dive into techniques behind the specific technique of partnering
that is in a key role in Kinetic Orchestra’s dance pieces. In teaching physicality and the ability to adapt into
different ways of moving are emphasised. In class also conventional divisions into flyer-base roles are raised
into question and new ways to balance and enrich partnering are being sought.
In the repertoire partnering workshop we are diving into choreographed duet sequences from Kinetic
Orchestra’s pieces. We’ll introduce some tasks and methods we have used in the creation of certain
materials in order to deepen the understanding behind the set movement. The main focus in the workshop
is giving time to dance through longer sequences and finding flow, different qualities and small nuances in
the given duets.
