About the Docent: Andrew Dowdy is a professional data scientist and a volunteer wilderness search & rescue and emergency medical technician. Andrew was born in London, England, and moved to Atlanta in the Fall of 2020 to study at Georgia Tech where he earned his Bachelor and Master of Science and became involved with climate research. Early in his time at Tech, Andrew began volunteering with Trees Atlanta, before spending several months on staff as an intern and later a GIS contractor. Andrew is now a Forest Steward at Trees Atlanta leading volunteer restoration projects in various parks and greenspaces including Proctor Creek Greenway. Andrew is passionate about the role of trees in our fight to survive the climate crisis.
