The Minnesota Tree Steward program is designed for people who love trees, enjoy being outdoors, and want to volunteer with their community. City of Mahtomedi is partnering with the Washington Conservation District to host a Tree Steward within the city. In Mahtomedi, the steward would participate in a variety of educational and planting events, along with small tree monitoring and care duties.
Through a partnership with the University of Minnesota, you’ll learn how to care for young and newly planted trees in public spaces of Washington County. After completing the training and short assessment, you‘ll become a certified Tree Steward Volunteer who can participate in activities under the guidance of WCD/host site Forestry staff. Lunch will be provided during training.
