Tree Planting in Kirklees - Newsome ward

This planting session forms part of the council’s wider woodland creation programme, funded by the White Rose Forest, which aims to contribute to long-term carbon storage, reverse biodiversity decline and provide high quality woodlands for our communities. This work also helps with nature recovery across the borough.

Please ensure you arrive a little earlier than the start time as there will be some guidance at the beginning of the session about how to plant the trees from the staff who will be delivering the session. This is an open session for volunteers, please feel free to stay as long as you like during the event times.

Please wear sturdy footwear, dress for the weather and bring your own refreshments. Parking is available on nearby streets - please take into consideration residents when parking.

Access to the planting site is up a track off Roger Lane/Ashenhurst Avenue. Nearest post code is HD4 6PX. What Three Words location for the entrance to the track to the planting site is: ///chase.universally.text

Tools, trees and gloves will be provided.

PHOTOGRAPHY &/OR FILMING will be taking place at this event.
