Tree Planting at Kings Island
About this Event
Tree Planting at Kings Island
Join us on Thursday, October 29th from 9:30AM-12:30PM as we plant diverse species of potted and bare root trees! This event will be held on-site at Kings Island, located at 2751 Cutters Grove Cir, Anoka, MN 55303.
The program is free but registration is required to ensure we have enough supplies for everyone. This event will involve walking on paved trails and uneven forest floor. Volunteer work will also involve bending, digging, lifting, and watering. If you anticipate needing any accommodations in order to volunteer or have any questions, please contact Lauren Schmelzer by email at [email protected] or call 763-434-2030 x 220.
In case of bad weather, this event may be postponed. All registered volunteers will be informed in advance and an alternative date and time will be provided through email.
What to Bring
Please bring a water bottle, sun protection, insect repellent, and gardening gloves (ACD has some gloves for volunteers, but it is encouraged to bring your own). We recommend wearing long pants and close-toed shoes or hiking boots to protect yourself from spiky undergrowth and dirt.
Parking and Meeting Location
Map yourself to 2751 Cutters Grove Cir, Anoka, MN 55303. This is the address of Mississippi River Community Park, but it will take you to a public parking lot at the bottom of a hill that will allow you to access King's Island via a paved trail. We will be meeting at the pavilion just north of the parking lot.
