MARK YOUR CALENDARS--WE'RE PLANTING TREES AGAIN!
Last year Olmsted City planted 100 trees and shrubs at Frederick T. Proctor Park, and this year we will plant a similar number of trees at the park from 10:00 until 1:30 on Saturday, October 18, and Sunday, October 19.
We benefited from the help of 65 dedicated volunteers over the course of two days last year, and we hope to again assemble at least that many volunteers over two days for this year's planting. You won't be asked to dig holes--that will be done before volunteers arrive--so your job, if you join us, will simply be to put the trees in the holes, make sure they're level, and then cover their roots with the dirt piled next to the hole. It's that easy--and people with knowledge about how to best plant trees will be on hand to guide the process.
Please join us for this very special event, and help us continue to make F.T. Proctor Park an even more beautiful, functional, environmentally healthy park! You can come and leave as you want—you do not need to feel obligated to stay the entire time or to participate both days. Thanks!!
