Tree Identificaton Hike

Join our Black Run Ambassadors as we identify the buds, leaves, and flowers of over 15 different tree species in the Black Run Preserve. We will hike approximately 2-3 miles on hard and soft sand, slight elevations, roots, and stumps and some wet areas. The hike starts promptly at 10:00 AM, please arrive at 9:45 AM for check in and instructions. Porta Potty is available at the beginning and end of hike.
DATE: Saturday, Septembr 12, 2026
TIME: 10:00am to 12:00pm (Meet at the welcome table at 9:30 am to check in.)
WHERE TO MEET: BORTONS ROAD Trailhead Entrance.
WHAT TO WEAR: Dress for the weather and bring a water bottle. Protect yourself from the sun and bugs. Hiking boots, sturdy shoes, or waterproof boots are recommended.
DETAILS: This is a social/informational hike to familiarize participants with the trails of the Black Run Preserve and the Friends of the Black Run Preserve community.
