The seminar explores the rich learning possibilities that arise from engaging with trees as both natural beings and sources of artistic inspiration. By viewing trees not only as biological organisms but also as symbols of connection, memory and resilience, participants examine how trees can serve as roots for sustainable awareness. The seminar draws on interdisciplinary approaches, particularly from contemporary art and eco-art practices. Speakers will reflect on how artistic engagement with trees can deepen ecological awareness.
A key focus will be on how art can foster a more ethical and imaginative relationship with nature, encouraging a shift from human-centred thinking to a relational worldview. The seminar will explore how creative practices can form a foundation for co-creation with nature—moving away from control toward dialogue—where making becomes a method for asking questions about sustainability, responsibility and belonging. The seminar will conclude with open discussion on how art can promote environmental stewardship.
