About this Event
Tree Canada, in collaboration with LEAF, is excited to celebrate National Tree Day, presented by BMO! This is the biggest NTD celebration yet, with events taking place across the country during National Forest Week.
Join us at Carrville Park to help plant 500 native trees and shrubs, with guidance from Tree Canada experts and experienced volunteers who will be there to support you and answer your tree-related questions. We’ll provide gloves and shovels—just bring your enthusiasm!
This event is completely free.
How you'll be making an impact
By planting 500 native trees and shrubs, this initiative will help expand Richmond Hill’s urban forest while providing essential habitat and food sources for local wildlife, including songbirds and pollinators. Community members will also have the opportunity to learn from LEAF staff and volunteers about how to properly plant and care for native species. Through this hands-on experience, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the urban forest, the many ways it supports our well-being, and how we can all contribute to protecting and enhancing this important ecosystem.
