We are excited to host our second annual Mother's Day Bingo! We are doing things a little bit differently this year... including local vendors and a way to give back to the surrounding community.In lieu of the usual fee collected for bingo, we are asking participants to bring Feminine Hygiene Products to be donated to Avenue of Life in Kansas City, KS. “Our mission is to mobilize our community to equip and empower low-income individuals and families to be self-sustained and independent.” (Mission Statement, www.avenueoflife.org) This organization provides food, clothing, social services, church services, and community programs to homeless families in the KCK area. “In the first three years of the Impact KCK program, the number of homeless students in the school districts we work with dropped by half.”
Feminine Hygiene Products include tampons, sanitary pads, menstrual cups, sea sponges, and others designed to manage the symptoms of a woman's menstrual cycle. If you would like to include other donations such as clothing, deodorant, tooth paste & tooth brushes, towels, shower and hair care products, or school supplies you are more than welcome to bring them along.
