This FREE seminar is a two part learning experience designed to deepen understanding of how trauma affects children and youth ages 0–18, how it can create unintended impacts for the adults who support them, and how to strengthen adults’ capacity to respond with skill, attunement, and regulation.Part One introduces the foundations of trauma: how it shapes the developing brain and nervous system, influences attachment and behavior, and reverberates across generations and environments. Participants explore ACEs and PACEs, environmental and social stressors, and the ways trauma affects not only children but also the adults who care for and work with them.
Part Two shifts from awareness to application. This session focuses on practical strategies and techniques that reduce trauma exposure, support regulation, and create calming, predictable environments across diverse settings. The emphasis is on building interactions that foster safety, connection, and resilience for both children and adults.
This training will take place on Thursday, April 16th, from 1:00 - 4:00 PM. Coffee & light snacks provided. CEUs available with this training. Please reach out to Stephanie Pohar at [email protected] for additional questions.
